Rallies to Assist Children in Storm-Battered Haiti.
Four major storms
have struck the poorest country in the Americas over the past month
and left thousands homelss, without food and water, and vulnerable
to disease. MFP's first priority is to deliver supplies to assist
children and their families including materials to rebuild clinics,
homes and schools. The effort will focus on programs in the hard-hit
Artibonite department, particularly in the Gros Morne region. MFP
plans to send a medical team to Gros Morne as soon as the roads

Host Family Reunites With Iraqi Girl.
In 1993, Sarah
Tahir was brought to the US to repair the congenital abnormaility
of her heart as part of MFP's Iraqi Children's Program. She stayed
with a host family in New York, and following successful surgery
her host mother brought her back to her parents in Kirkuk. After
14 years, Sara and her American host family reunited in a small
town in southeastern Turkey near the Iraqi border. Sarah's host

MFP Meets
With Jordanian Red Crescent to Discuss Iraqi Refugee Crisis.
This past August,
Dr. Michael Viola, Director of Medicine For Peace, met with Dr.
Mohammed Haddid, (Left in photo) President of the JRC and his staff
in Amman for a series of meetings focused on solutions to the medical
problems of Iraqi refugees in Jordan. MFP has collaberated with
the JRC in the past and is committed to developing collaberative
efforts to assist Iraqi refugees in Jordan. There are 2 million
displaced Iraqis now temporarily living in Syria and Jordan.
